For the Injury Prone or Over-Pronated Foot

The following are our top five shoes in two major category of support:  Stability, and Motion Control.  Some models are new this year and some are carried over from years past.  Please keep in mind that all recommendations are based on personal evaluation and are all good for personal training.  This list is intended to be a starting point.  After a gait screening and a personal injury evaluation, your choices will be narrowed down to those that provide adequate support and that also possess characteristics that should allow for a smoother overall race walking motion.

Worth mentioning:  Nike Air Kantara, and the Asics Gel Kayano which both provide the ultimate bells and whistles from their respective brands.  Although the prices may be a deterrent ($120-$130), it worth trying them on against their less expensive competition.
Coming this year but releasing between April and July, The Saucony Grid Omni (moderate and maximum) look to be excellent updates.  They will have narrow heels, wide toe boxes and plenty of support.  These should hit around July 1, 2002.
